Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan received Crystal award for making a contribution towards human rights awareness through his NGO. The event was organized by World Economic Forum in Davos which is one of the biggest summits across the globe witnessed by business leaders, celebs, and businessmen from different parts of the world.
Shahrukh Khan is undoubtedly one of the most popular faces of Indian cinema who enjoys a huge fan following and international recognition beyond boundaries. With this honor, the actor has added one more feather to his cap.
At WEF, Shahrukh was felicitated as the founder of a non-profit organization named Meer Foundation that supports acid attack survivors and provides treatment for severe burns. The foundation also offers assistance in the form of vocational training, rehabilitation, legal aid, and livelihood.
At the ceremony, the superstar thanked his sister, wife, and daughter through whom he learned to respect women and realized the value of requesting them for a yes.
Apart from SRK, the Crystal Awards were also given to Australian actress Cate Blanchett and British songwriter, singer Elton John.
Apparently, the actor was so excited to be present at the Forum that he expressed his gratitude and happiness in a series of Tweets:
