Youtube new updates

The video aggregator, YouTube has stopped placing ads on channels with fewer than 10,000 views. YouTube resorted to this step as a part of it’s comprehensive strategy to thwart money-making from offensive or pirated videos.

“This new threshold gives us enough information to determine the validity of a channel,” product management vice president Ariel Bardin said.

“It also allows us to confirm if a channel is following our community guidelines and advertiser policies.”

Only after a video passes a 10,000 mark, advertisement will be added to the content. The 10,000 mark will indicate that the video is watchable and not spam, like most videos found on YouTube today.

YouTube, which is a brainchild of Google has now deployed Artificial Intelligence to track and identify objectionable videos which are indecorous and unlikeable by the advertiser community. The new systems, Google claimed, “will be adapted to advertiser preferences.”

Not only this, Youtube will now work closely with third-parties for the benefit of advertisers. Collaborating with third parties will aid advertisers in posting their video on unobjectionable content. The tech giant also said it would work with third parties to help advertisers protect their brands from unwanted placement.

This step came as a result of many advertising agencies withdrawing their placements. This is because advertisers felt it was an unhealthy practice to place ads on infamous content.
