Twitter has become a huge platform to talk about anything. People can express their appreciation as well as their rage on this amazing social media platform. Recently, Zomato has become been criticized at Twitter. Zomato is a restaurant search and discovery service website. Due to its bunch of cheeky and hilarious outdoor ad campaigns, Zomato is grabbing the eyeballs of daily commuters.
There are some amazing creatives that put on hoardings in various Indian cities. In fact, punch lines like ‘nation wanted know, ladka nikal gaya kya?’, ‘mera pizza ghar aaya o Ram ji’, ‘oonchi hai building? Lift teri band hai?’ and ‘acche din are finally here’ have made the people laugh.
But the latest hoarding by Zomato sparked the Twitter with mixed reactions. The latest hoarding displays ‘MC for mac n’ cheese while BC for butter chicken. As all knows MC and BC are abbreviations for abuse in Hindi. Many people find it very offensive and called it shameful attempt by Zomato. In fact, many tagged Smriti Irani, Information and Broadcasting minister in their tweets.
Know what Zomato said
The co-founder of Zomato Mr. Pankaj Chaddah also apologised for the hoarding. He also said that asked people to see the humuorous side of the ad. Check out the reaction for this BC MC on Twitter.
Shame on you @ZomatoIN ! Absolutely shameful what you’ve attempted to do. Your investors should be sickened by your behaviour! @smritiirani : this is outrageous. @ascionline pic.twitter.com/pSChhHSrxo
