7 Best Roles of Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor Khan also known as Bebo is celebrating her 33rd birthday today. The actress has proved her mettle while acting in a variety of film genres – comedy, romance, thriller or crime drama. The brilliant actress is youngest daughter of Randhir Kapoor and is also the sister of yesteryear actress Karishma Kapoor.

Kareena Kapoor has started her filming career 15 years back with Refugee – an iconic J.P Dutta movies which launched both Kareena and Abhishek Bachchan in year 2000. She established her acting talent with roles in movies like Asoka and the blockbuster melodrama ‘Kabhi Khushi kabhi Gham’ – released back to back in 2001.

However, a major turnaround in her career came with movie Chameli  and Dev– released in 2004. Kapoor’s work in these projects was well received by critics. The series continued with a crime-drama film Omkara. Her movie Jab We Met has won her award of best actress in supporting role.

The actress with help of acting talent bagged Six Filmfare awards and her movie ‘3 Idiots’ which also was a national award winning movie.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham


The movie being a blockbuster hit, has portrayed Kareena as Pooja Sharma aka Poo as a glamorous diva. She helps her boyfriend Rohan (Hrithik Roshan) in uniting his family. The movie was directed by Karan Johar and Kareena was nominated for the ‘Best Actress’ in supporting role.



In this movie Kareena played role of a Sex Worker – Chameli, a good hearted sex worker helps Aman Kapoor (Rahul Bose) in changing his philosophy on life. Though the role was a bit challenging, but was very well acted by Kareena, she has been awarded film fare special award for her best performance.



This movie based on Gujarat riots, mimicked Kareena as Aalyan who is in deep love with Farhaan (Fardeen Khan) manipulated by corrupt politicians. Kareena playing a role of beautiful and innocent girl, dares to stand for truth. The movie being a moderate in success on box office won for Kareena Filmfare Critics award for best actress for her performance.



An Epic film based on Ashoka the Great, showcased Kareena in role of Kaurwaki – who is a princess of Kalinga and hiding herself from place to place to protect her brother, Kaurwaki eventually falls in love with Asoka (Shah Rukh Khan) and marries him, but unfortunately gets separated and then meets him back during climax of the reel. In this commercially hit movie Kareena was nominated for the award of Best Actress in Filmfare.

3 Idiots


The movie based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘Five Point Someone’, in which Kareena played the role of Pia, daughter of Virudha Sahastrabudhe (Boman Irani) the director of an Engineering College . Pia is a medical student and falls in love with Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad aka Rancho (Aamir Khan). The movie 3 Idiots was mega hit and won number of awards, even Kareena was nominated for the category of Best Actress in Filmfare Award.



An adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece Othello, Kareena plays role of Dolly Mishra who marries Omkara Shukla (Ajay Devgan) a gangster. Dolly is suspected of infidelity by her husband, ends up in a massacre. The movie picked its charm among the audience, so does Kareena winning Best Actress award in Filmfare, Star Screen Award and IIFA (International Indian Film Festival) for her remarkable performance as an actress.
