The euphoria Indians felt at dawn, on 15th August 1947, has been glorified in the pages of history. With personal accounts that leave you aghast to pictures that each tell a story of the the struggle that we as free Indians will never have to experience. What we face, though very different, is however largely responsible for paralyzing this functioning democracy to an extent.
OyO Rooms, to mark this independence day, released a short film, ‘#Azaadi4Me‘, starring Manoj Bajpai and Raveena Tandon, which speaks volumes in 7 intense minutes. A perfect amalgamation of the struggles an India under the iron clad imperialist fist dealt with and the struggles of an azaad India, while offering a jarring comparison; this short film asks, “Hum Azaad na hote toh kaisa hota?” It will remind you of reasons we ought to appreciate and respect the freedom we take for granted. With a surge of patriotism and a prayer for our bravehearts who valiantly fought to free India, we salute you.
