Hera Pheri, undeniably one of the most successful comedy movies of India will soon have its third installment with Hera Pheri 3. The news came out when director Indra Kumar confirmed that he will be directing the third part. It will mark a comeback of the trio- Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal portraying the roles of Raju, Shyam, and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, respectively.

Reportedly, the film was locked last month when all three actors gave their dates. While the shoot is scheduled between December 2018 and February 2019, the release date will fall in the second half of the next year.
Notably, the first installment Hera Pheri was directed by Priyadarshan whereas the second part was directed by Neeraj Vora. In 2015, there was an announcement that Vohra was launching the third part of the film sans Akshay Kumar, with an addition of John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan to the cast. However, it got canceled and two years later, Vora passed away.
Although he already had written a script before slipping into the coma, director Indra Kumar confirmed that the story is being written from the scratch and everything is going to be new.
Interestingly, Hera Pheri had been the most successful while Phir Hera Pheri seemed to be a little stretched and had moments when the humor felt a little too forced. Although it was commercially a hit it’s almost impossible to re-create the charm that Hera Pheri had.
Indra Kumar is known for his films like Dil, Raja, Masti, Grand Masti, and Great Grand Masti. We just hope that Hera Pheri 3 isn’t going to be filled with scenes that objectify women muck like Masti and Dil because this is something that Hera Pheri lovers would not appreciate. However, the fact that the Raju-Shyam-Baburao trio is going to be there in the film is quite satisfactory and refreshing.
