Aadesh Srivastava dies of cancer

Aadesh Srivastava, the remarkable music composer and director passed away in Mumbai on Saturday after losing his long fight with cancer. He was battling the disease and had undergone various treatments but sadly, could not make it. He had just turned 51 a day before that is on September 4. This prolific composer had worked with legendary singers of the day like Lata Mangeshkar, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu and Sunidhi Chauhan.

Aadesh Srivastava who was was famous for his immaculate work in the music industry leaves behind a wife Vijeta Pandit, a former Bollywood actress and sister of music composer duo Jatin-Lalit, and his two sons Anivesh and Avitesh.

Aadesh Srivastava was born on September 4, 1965 in Jabalpur. His entry into the world of Bollywood commenced when he played drums for music directors such as OP Nayyar, Shankar Jaikisan, and Salil Chaudhary. Aadesh Srivastav assisted the renowned music director Laxmikant Pyarelal for almost a decade and later he roped in with the fame of becoming a professional Music composer.

His journey was not a piece of cake and his initial work was not very acclaimed but his blockbuster song “Kya Ada Kya Jalwe tere Paaro” from the movie ‘Shastra‘ got him the much awaited appreciation in the industry. He scored the music for over 100 films where the all time favorites Chalte Chalte, Babul, Baaghban, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Rajneeti secured him a top place.

The legendary music composer had also profiled a role as a judge in the famous Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in the year 2005 and 2009. Aadesh Srivastav was the only Indian Music composer who teamed up with International artists like T-Pain, Soulja Boy, Norah Jones, Queen Latifa, and the famous and sensational Shakira. His association with international R&B superstar Akon pocketed him a well known track recorded with him- One for the World.

Well, this creative soul may have signed off but all we can do is thank him for his amazing music and inspirational work ethic. May he Rest in Peace.
