PM Modi’s reforms showcase a new India globally

The “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and “Clean Ganga” programmes are speaking volumes not just in India but have been praised with huge responses all around the world. As the gesture made by President of World bank Jim Young Kim, the reforms made by PM Narendra Modi have had a huge impact on the way world perceived India. He appreciated the progress made by these programmes as launched by Modi.

External Affairs  Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said “During a meeting with Modi on the sidelines of the ongoing UN General Assembly session, the World Bank President praised the progress made in ‘Swachh Bharat’ and ‘Clean Ganga’ programme where the World Bank is an important partner”.

Kim made a notable remark appreciating the perseverance attitude of PM Modi and said what was happening in India was actually very different from what had actually happened in other countries of the world. “He maintained that the World Bank wanted to be a strong partner as India moved forward on these targets,” Swarup said.


The two leaders also discussed on the governance structure of World Bank.

“The Prime Minister said that he has always supported strengthening of global governance and reform of the institutions of global governance. But it is a fact also that a country like India was not represented in these structures. So this needed to change,” Swarup said.

PM Minister Narendra Modi talked about the progress made in India, the expansion in the construction of more toilets, the rising standards of hygiene, the implementation of international strategy and technology to clean Ganga that had deteriorated on the cleanliness standards.

The President of World Bank also enquired about India’s state in climate change and Narendra Modi gave a detailed explanation about the same. He said “’Swachh Bharat’ campaign was launched on October 2 last year to cover 4041 statutory towns, to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country.’ Clean Ganga’ programme was launched for rejuvenating and making the river Ganga pollution-free.

Well, the distinctive strategy and steps taken by Narendra Modi are well acclaimed all over the globe and this PM is setting new standards by his launched programmes and reforms that had been implemented.
