Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with students from Manekshaw Auditorium today, turned out to be an inspiring and motivational memory for students, nationwide. In a sequence of Teacher’s Day events Pranab Mukherjee, taught Political Science to students of 11 and 12 class, also addressed 100 teachers after the lecture.
The eve before Teacher’s Day celebration in India remained important for students of country, started at Manekshaw Auditorium Delhi earlier this morning, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his ideology of a good teacher with more than 800 students, whereas the President delivered lecture to class 60 students in a Government School at President Estate.
On Teacher’s Day 2014, it was made compulsory for all school students to hear to Modi’s interaction, but this year the story was quite different, as it was just a routine event. At Manekshaw Auditorium the PM talked face to face with 800 students, and also answered question raised by students through video conferencing.
Narendra Modi was at his idealistic and inventive best while interacting with students, some of his ideas and thoughts have the power to restructure the lives of students and combined with their upbringing, such as his idea of ‘Aptitude Certificates’ instead of Character Certificate on completion of schooling life, or his thought that all those who can teach must volunteer 100 hours of teaching in nearby schools, to solve problem of shortage of good teachers.
Modi during this teachers Day event quoted:
#Classrooms gives a sense of mission and priority
#a true teacher never retire
#parents should not impose their own dreams on kids.
#we should avoid being a robot.
#being a teacher is not like any other profession, it is different from others.
Followed by the Narendra Modi’s Pathshaala, for the first time ever President of India Pranabh Mukherjee addressed class of 60 students as a teacher, in Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidhyalaya Government School in the President Estate.
Pranabh Mukherjee before joining politics worked as a teacher and journalist. He has done his masters in Political Science and Law from Kolkata University. In beginning of his class president clarified that, “as I stand before you as a teacher and not as a president,” if anyone of you feel bored can speak out fearlessly, added Pranab Mukherjee to the students.
As the class preceded president brought into knowledge of students how the constitution of India came into being. He said our constitution starts with ‘we the people of India’, word ‘secular’ and ‘socialist’ were added through 44th amendment in 1975. He further added that 93% of expenses come from India’s own pocket, not from the money borrowed. Majority of money is spent on development to make the nation, globally competent.
Overall was a fair enlighten day for nearly 9 crore students of India, who witnessed these events live, but more importantly got privilege to here from two most important individuals of nation, one is powerful constitutionally and other is democratically.
