In response to the alleged rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl in the Bhilwara area, Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed outrage and called for harsh punishment for those responsible.

According to the villagers, the girl was also gang-raped before being allegedly slain and then burned in a coal furnace in Bhilwara district, police said on Thursday. Police have detained five individuals operating at five coal furnaces in the region concerning the incident.

According to the locals, the girl was kidnapped, murdered, and then thrown into the fire.

Pilot responded to the event on Thursday night by stating that the news of the underage girl’s abuse “deeply disturbed” him.

It is unacceptable to oppress daughters or women in any way. The perpetrators of such barbaric deeds should face severe punishment, and the victim’s family should swiftly receive justice. Strict action must be taken against them. I send the victim’s family my sincere condolences, Pilot tweeted in Hindi.

Pilot’s tweet was posted a few days after a sizable demonstration in Jaipur by BSP supporters against the state’s Ashok Gehlot-led administration over the surge in crime against women.

The fired Rajasthan minister Rajendra Gudha had previously lambasted the Ashok Gehlot-led administration, claiming that the state has earned the dubious distinction of having the highest rate of crimes against women. Gudha is well known for supporting Pilot.

The young girl left home on Wednesday to graze cattle but didn’t come home until the evening, at which point her family members reportedly began looking for her, according to the police. The family discovered the girl’s shoes later that evening close to one of the five furnaces. They looked inside and discovered her bangle and a few bones.

Locals detained a few individuals after spotting them and thinking they were involved in the crime, according to authorities.

At the Kotri police station, the detained residents who live close to the furnaces are being questioned.

Apart from the crime scene, four more furnaces, according to him, were destroyed today since they were erroneously erected on public property.

After visiting the victim’s family in the hamlet, BJP leader Kalulal Gurjar said that the girl had been raped and her body had been burned in the kiln.
