The Indian women’s 25m pistol team of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan won gold in the Asian Games on September 27, according to PTI.
The three finished first on the podium with a total score of 1759, giving India its fourth gold medal in the ongoing athletic spectacular. Manu Bhaker distinguished out by winning the qualification round following the previous rapid-fire series with a score of 98.
The Chinese team won the silver medal with a total score of 1756, while South Korean shooters took third place with a total score of 1742.
This triumph came shortly after another Indian trio, Ashi Chouksey, Manini Koushik, and Sift Kaur Samra, won silver in the women’s 50m rifle 3 position event. The Indian team finished second on the podium with a total of 1764 points in the qualification round.
Hosts China earned the gold medal with a total score of 1773, while South Korea won the bronze medal with a total score of 1756. Samra and Chauksey qualified for the finals as well. Samra came in second, Chauksey came in sixth, and Kaushik finished 18th in the individual event. Samra set a new Asian qualifying record with a total score of 594.
