A 30-year-old filmmaker was involved in an accident in east Delhi and was left bleeding for nearly 30 minutes before someone came to his aid and transported him to the hospital, according to a report in the Times of India. During this time, bystanders took pictures and videos as the injured filmmaker, Piyush Pal, struggled on the ground.

CCTV footage from a nearby petrol station revealed that Pal collided with another motorcycle and fell to the ground, sustaining significant injuries to his face and head. The accident occurred on the Outer Ring Road, in the lane leading from the IIT crossing to Nehru Place, at around 9:45 pm on a Saturday.

One of the few individuals who stopped to assist Pal mentioned that he had lost a substantial amount of blood, and witnesses at the scene believed he had been lying there for at least 30 minutes. Later, some Good Samaritans placed him in an autorickshaw and hurried him to a nearby clinic, which then referred him to the PSRI Multispeciality Hospital on Press Enclave Marg.

Although the accident took place around 5:30 p.m., Pal did not receive medical attention until 11 p.m. Unfortunately, this delay in treatment had severe consequences for the young man’s health.

A police team arrived at the scene around 10:30 p.m., but they found no one there as both injured individuals had already been taken to the hospital.

Pal underwent an autopsy, and his body was returned to his family on Wednesday for the final rites. His cremation occurred late in the evening at Nigambodh Ghat.
