Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reiterated a day after his phone call with Shah Rukh Khan that he “didn’t know who he was” when the megastar texted him on Saturday. “After 2001, I didn’t watch many movies,” he claimed.

In the call, which was initiated by Shah Rukh Khan, the Assam Chief Minister reportedly assured the actor about the protests against his film “Pathaan,” which is set to be released on Wednesday.

Mr. Sarma said he first heard from SRK on Saturday evening.

Himanta Sarma stated that SRK first texted him on Saturday evening.

“At 7:15 p.m., I received a text message from SRK. ‘I’m Shah Rukh Khan, and I’d like to speak with you,’ he said. I didn’t have time at the time. I texted him and called him at 2 a.m. He introduced himself to me, and I had no idea who he was. I know Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra haven’t seen many films since 2001 “Today, the Chief Minister stated.

“So we spoke later at 2 a.m., and I told him that there would be no disruption in Assam.”

Mr. Sarma had previously tweeted about his conversation with the star about an incident that occurred during a screening of his film in Guwahati. Right-wing activists tore up posters for the film at a Guwahati theatre where it will be shown.

The phone call came after Mr Sarma had told reporters the day before that he knew nothing about SRK or the film Pathaan.

“Who exactly is Shah Rukh Khan? I know nothing about him or the film “Pathaan.” “Mr Sarma stated on Friday in Guwahati. He was responding to a question about the protests and Rajeev Bora, the theatre’s owner, receiving a call from SRK.

When told that SRK is a Bollywood superstar, Mr Sarma scoffed, saying that people in the state should be concerned with Assamese films rather than Bollywood. Mr Sarma also stated that he had not received a call from SRK and that if the actor pressed him, he would look into the matter.

The following day, the actor called.

Protests have erupted in response to the song “Besharam Rang,” which stars SRK and Deepika Padukone. Deepika Padukone appears to be wearing a saffron-colored swimsuit, a colour revered by Hindus. Several leaders, including those from the right-wing Vishwa Hindu Parishad, have called for the film to be banned.
