On Wednesday, Shraddha drove her new car to the ISKCON temple in Juhu and conducted a religious ceremony. The photos and videos of this event went viral, further intensifying the backlash against the actress for her choice of a luxury car that contributes to air pollution.
Some sarcastically commented on the irony, suggesting that her Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica must be miraculously generating clean air and benefiting not only Aarey but the entire city of Mumbai and India.
Others pointed out the contradiction in her actions, comparing her to climate activist Greta Thunberg and questioning her commitment to climate activism.
They highlighted her past involvement in opposing the Aarey Metro Carshed, which was intended to serve the common working class of Mumbai.
