Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has issued an apology for his controversial remarks on population control, as reported by news agency ANI. In the video, Kumar can be heard saying, “I apologize, and I take back my words.”

Earlier, on Tuesday, Nitish Kumar sparked a controversy while emphasizing the importance of women’s education in population control. He used a vivid description in the assembly to illustrate how an educated woman can influence her husband’s behavior during sexual intercourse to manage population growth.

Kumar’s remarks faced criticism from the Opposition and women legislators, who found them inappropriate. The Bihar BJP criticized the Chief Minister for his comments and even suggested that there should be a ban on his double-meaning statements.

Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav defended Nitish Kumar, stating that the remarks were about sex education and had been misinterpreted.

The BJP, on the other hand, strongly condemned Nitish Kumar’s remarks and demanded his resignation. Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey labeled the remarks as shameful and called for the Chief Minister’s resignation. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized Kumar’s language as vulgar, indecent, and sexist, expressing concern about the impact of such language on the women of Bihar.”
