Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, has received a third death threat email on Monday, demanding a ransom of ₹400 crore. It is worth noting that the same sender had previously sent two similar emails on October 27, requesting ₹200 crore from Ambani.

The Mumbai Police have registered a case against an unknown person in Gamdevi Police Station in Mumbai, following these repeated death threats. Security at Ambani’s residence in south Mumbai has been heightened as a precaution.

The initial threat, received on October 27, warned Ambani of a shooting if he did not pay ₹20 crore. The email stated, “If you don’t give us 20 crore rupees, we will kill you, we have the best shooters in India.” Based on Ambani’s security team’s complaint, the Gamdevi Police registered a case under sections 387 and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code, and investigations are ongoing.

On October 28, another threat was sent from the same email account, increasing the demand from ₹20 crore to ₹200 crore, citing the lack of response to the previous email. The email stated, “You have not responded to our email, so now the amount is 200 crore, otherwise the death warrant is signed.”

It’s not the first time that Mukesh Ambani and his family have faced death threats. In 2022, an unidentified person threatened to blow up the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in south Mumbai. In August 2022, a jeweler was arrested for making threats to kill Ambani and his family by calling the hospital. In February 2021, an SUV loaded with explosives was discovered near Ambani’s residence in south Mumbai, known as ‘Antilia.’
