N Valamarthi, the voice behind ISRO mission launches has passed away

N Valarmathi, an ISRO scientist who was the voice behind the organization’s rocket countdown launches, including Chandrayaan-3, which ended up being her final launch, died on Saturday night in Chennai after suffering a heart attack, according to a report by WION.

Former ISRO director Dr. PV Venkitakrishnan expressed his condolences for her passing on X (formerly Twitter) and claimed that Chadrayaan-3 was her final countdown announcement.

“Valarmathi Madam’s voice won’t be heard during the countdowns of upcoming ISRO missions from Sriharikotta. Her final countdown announcement was Chandrayan 3. an unanticipated death. Really sad. Pranams!” On X, Dr. Venkitakrishnan wrote.

The deceased ISRO scientist received many tributes on social media.

“This is really, very sad to hear. We collaborated closely on our Vikram-S launch last year, for which she provided the launch countdown voice, according to a user on X.

In the words of another user, “Jai Hind….she will be remembered as her countdown….finally ended and gave us shivshakti point at the moon.”

“I noticed her absence at the launch of #AdityaL1. She might be out sick or something, I reasoned. But I wasn’t prepared for the gloomy news. I’ll miss her dearly. The third user wrote, “Om Shanti.

In August, Chandrayaan-3, an Indian spacecraft, became the first nation to set foot on the south pole of the moon.

It is also the fourth nation, behind the US, China, and Russia, to have accomplished a successful lunar landing.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission consists of three modules: the propulsion module, which moved the lander and the rover module into a 100-kilometer lunar orbit; the lander module, which carried out the lunar craft’s soft landing; and the rover module, which is used to explore the moon’s surface.
