Outrage in India over Bilawal Bhutto’s statement on PM Modi, BJP will protest across the country

The Bharatiya Janata Party hold a nationwide protest today against the ‘derogatory’ remarks made by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP said in a statement on Friday, “Protests will be held in all state capitals across the country. BJP workers will burn the effigy of Pakistan and Pakistan’s foreign minister and strongly condemn their shameful statement.”

The BJP termed Bilawal Bhutto’s remarks against PM Modi as highly derogatory and full of cowardice. The BJP said that this comment was given to divert global attention from Pakistan’s declining economy, chaos in Pakistan.

Demonstration outside Pakistan High Commission

Earlier on Friday also, BJP workers protested outside the Pakistani High Commission in Delhi against the statement of the Foreign Minister of Pakistan. During the protest, the BJP alleged that the purpose of the statement was to mislead the world, to divert the world’s attention from Pakistan’s declining economy, chaos in Pakistan, growing differences between Pakistan and the army, its deteriorating global relations. The BJP said that India’s foreign policy is being praised globally, while Pakistan is facing backlash from smaller countries as well.
The BJP said, “On one side is our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose leadership India has left an indelible mark on various global fora. On the other hand, there is Pakistan, which has faced ridicule and humiliation at various international fora. On one hand India’s foreign policy is being appreciated globally, on the other hand Pakistan is facing opposition from smaller countries as well.”

Bilawal Bhutto statements were target

BJP said that the kind of language used by Bilawal Bhutto is highly condemnable. Also, it does not reflect the true spirit of politics and also crosses the limits of decency in public life. The BJP further said, “Does Bilawal Bhutto even have the stature to comment about our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is a true statesman and a highly respected global leader! This outrageous statement by Bilawal Bhutto has tarnished Pakistan’s image on the global stage further reduced.”

Foreign Ministry also reprimanded the foreign minister of Pakistan

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also reprimanded Prime Minister Modi over the remarks of the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and said that these comments are a new low for Pakistan as well. Responding to questions from the media, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “The frustration of Pakistan’s foreign minister should be against the masterminds of terrorist groups in their own country, who have made terrorism a part of their state policy. There is a need to change the mindset.”
