5 Year Old year Indian Girl abducted in Bahrain has been rescued

A couple of days back, a 5-year-old Indian origin girl, Sarah, was kidnapped from the Hoora area of Bahrain. The girl was reportedly kidnapped by a couple on Tuesday, August 2nd, night. She was abducted from her Mother’s car when she left her alone for less than a minute in the car for buying a water bottle from a nearby store. The concerned parents then filed a complaint at the Hoora’s Police Station and posted on Facebook about the news which got circulated online.

The police then started investigating the case and the preliminary investigation revealed that the culprits found the girl being alone in the car’s backseat, had driven the vehicle off with Sarah.

The Interior Ministry stated that the department had arrested a man and a woman in the case but haven’t revealed their identities. The Capital Governorate Police General Directorate Colonel Khalid Al Thawadi only stated that the man is a Bahraini of 38 years and the woman is an Asian of 37 years of age.

He also said that “We have formed a team of 25 patrol vehicles to search the girl. Police initiated their investigations as soon as the case was reported. The kidnappers were identified and the child was found at the woman’s residence in Hoora. We have initiated the legal proceedings to take action against the abductors”.

Previously, Sarah’s Uncle had posted on Facebook about the news along with a picture of Sarah saying that “Whoever has taken my baby, please drop her at some mall or any public place with my number on a paper. We will not charge you with anything nor even try to find out who you are…please…please. It’s a desperate plea”.

The External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also knew about the case and was concerned over the issue. Later on, Thursday, after the girl was rescued, Sushma Swaraj thanked the Bahraini Government and tweeted that, “I am happy Sarah has been rescued. Thank you, Bahrain”.

Earlier on Thursday morning, Sushma Swaraj had said that she would take the matter up with the Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

It is a matter of relief that the girl has returned safely to her family and also, it is good news for the Indians living abroad that now the Indian Government is very active and supportive towards their people living outside India. This incidence has again proved that Smt. Sushma Swaraj is the best External Affair Minister that our country has ever had.
