Flying by air has always meant a hole in the pocket especially for the common people. Generally, middle-class people opt for travelling through trains, as not only they are more comfortable for long tours but are also not-so heavy on the budget. Well, if you have always wanted to travel by air but never did because your wallet didn’t allowed you to, no more worries people. There is a good news as the popular airlines, Air India cuts down it’s travel fare. The airlines has recently made an announcement that they have dropped their flight ticket rates to the level of 2-tier AC of Rajdhani trains. Can you believe that? Well, that’s real!

According to the new pricing strategy, the fares of the four major routes Delhi-Chennai, Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Bengaluru and Delhi-Kolkata will be reduced just four hours before the departure of the respective flights. Air India Chairman and Managing Director Ashwani Lohani said that this major step has been taken in order to woo the customers and fill the seats. He also added that through this step we will lower down the sky-rocketing prices of the flight tickets booked at the last moment. Let us tell you a Delhi-Chennai Rajdhani AC II-Tier ticket costs  Rs. 3,905 while a Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani AC II-Tier ticket costs Rs. 2,870,. The fare of second AC Rajdhani ticket for Delhi-Bengaluru Rajdhani is Rs. 4,095 and for Delhi-Kolkata the cost is Rs. 2,890.

“Our objective is to fill these remaining seats as well. This can be achieved with such affordable fares. In addition, this would also help us increase our passengers’ revenue,” Mr Lohani added.
