Ajay Devgn, the renowned Bollywood star who is loved by fans of all age groups alike, celebrates his birthday on 2nd April. There is hardly any genre that the ace actor hasn’t excelled in. Be it a comic role like that in the Golmaal series or hardcore action sequences in Singham, the actor has proved his excellence time and again.

Right from the 90s, Ajay has been one of the most loved actors of Bollywood. Where most of the actors have their signature style statements and Greek God-like physique, Ajay has solely relied on characters that have a depth in them. His performances in films like Zakhm, Apaharan, Gangajal, and The Legend of Bhagat Singh are some of the greatest works from his career.

• Named as Vishal Veeru Devgan at the time of birth, the actor changed his name to Ajay for the sake of the industry and later changed his surname to Devgn due to his belief in astrology.

• Although he made his debut with the movie Phool Aur Kaatein in 1991, he was originally chosen for the role that was played by Salman in Karan Arjun. After he backed out for unknown reasons, he never shared a screen space with SRK.

• Ajay and Kajol’s love story is quite filmy when you look at the details. The two didn’t get along well with each other as Kajol didn’t like him when they first met. However, later, the duo became friends and soon after that, they fell for each other.

• Ajay is known to be a family man who is very protective of his wife Kajol and children Yug and Nysa. Recently his co-star Ileana said that the actor is obsessed with his kids. Also, he is one of the few actors whose name has never been associated with any other actress other than his wife Kajol.

• Ajay Devgn has received many nominations for several roles over the years and two National Awards for Zakhm (1998) and The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002). His role in the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was highly appreciated and loved by the audience despite Salman and Aishwarya being in the lead.
