Amul Tweeted its Business Plan to Indian Railways and the Ministry gave an “Utterly Butterly” Reply

It’s a well-known fact that Indian Railways is always prompt and quick with is tweet but its recent exchange with Amul has become the talk of the town. Often we see passengers tweeting to the ministry to seek help for various issues which are addressed instantly. However, this is the first time that the official twitter handle got a business plan through 140 characters.

This business proposal came from Amul, the age-old brand known for its milk products. In the twitter exchange, the company requested the railways to use refrigerated parcel vans in order to transport the Amul butter across the country.

Needless to say, the Indian Railways had a quick response but what came as a delight was the witty use of words by the ministry. To be precise, it was an utterly buttery reply which left the tweeple amused.

Unlike any other business deal, this one was interestingly quirky and refreshing. This recent conversation happening over Twitter has re-defined digitalization and the scope of social media. Although the rest of the details were discussed in a formal way and a meeting was also arranged.

Talking about the refrigerated vans, some of these are already used by railways for transporting perishable commodities like vegetables, fruits, poultry, chocolates and other similar items. However, these are being used on select routes because of which many vans are still lying unused.

So the plan is to get these unused vans repaired so that Amul can use them to transport butter across India. Well, this is a totally unique way of cracking business deals and having this response from a government body makes it all the more interesting. Someone also pointed out that the person handling the official twitter handle has got a good sense of humour.
