This Indian designer has gone places with his brilliant work. He has not only made a mark in Indian markets but also left an impression in the international markets. This Kashmiri boy started his career with his brother Rajiv Bal in 1986 in their Company Orchid Oversea PVT. LTD. Four years later he started his independent collection and then gradually progressed. He struggled for the first two to three years but then never looked behind.
He has a long list of clients from all over the world. Some of them are Uma Thurman, Cindy Crawford, Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell and Anna Kournikova. No one uses lotus and peacock motifs better than Rohit Bal and he is best known for it. He conducts fashion shows in various parts of the world like New York, Paris, Singapore, India etc and all his shows are sponsored by The Swatch Group. He has opened his flagship stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahembabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai in order to make India more fashionable.
Rohit has a long list of achievements as the brilliance of his work has been seen by all. He won the ‘Designer of the Year Award’ at the Kingfisher Fashion Achievement Awards in 2001. He has also won the ‘Designer of the Year’ at the Indian Fashion Awards in 2006. He was announced as the Lakme Grand Finale Designer for 2012. Also the Khadi Gram Udyog, the largest textile operation in Panchkula chose him to work with them as they were very impressed by his work. Not only this, he has also been the brand ambassador for Omega SA since 2001. He has also done designing for the reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati which his hosted by the Legendary Amitabh Bachchan.
