Again there is protest against filmmakers but this time, it is against the lyrics of viral from Malayalam film ‘Oru Adaar Love’. This is the song that features Priya Prakash Varrier- the wink girl.

What is the matter?
Zaheer Ali Khan, Muqeeth Khan and residents of Falaknuma in Hyderabad complained that when the song is translated to English, it has some derogatory words. They claimed that lyrics hurt the sentiments of Muslims. They have demanded that either the song is removed from the film or the lyrics are changed.

What did police say in this matter?
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Falaknuma division) Syed Fayaz told PTI, “Following the complaint, we took legal opinion and subsequently a case under IPC section 295A (hurting religious sentiments) has been registered against the film’s director, Omar Lulu.” Further on, it is said by Police department that the opinion of some Islamic clerics will be taken and if the song really hurts the sentiments then the actions will be taken.

In this row, the director of movie Omar Lulu claimed that the Muslims in northern Kerala had been singing the same song for over four decades. So, calling this song derogatory is not right.
