Delhi: Dead rat found in mid day meals, partially claimed lives of 9 children, now safe by god’s grace

How much Delhi is in news for it’s alarming pollution levels, other deteriorating factors cannot be neglected too. While the city is making news for lack of cleanliness and hygiene on public roads and venues, seems like food is also not spared.

Quite recently, a dead rat was found in a midday meal served at a government school in south Delhi on Thursday, owing to which at least nine students were victimized. These children consumed the food were, post which they had t be immediately hospitalized, where came respite through doctor’s verdict that everything was in control.

According to government officials, the rodent was found at the Government Boys Senior Secondary School in Deoli area.

“A rat found in midday meal of a government school. Nine students (who had eaten food) were immediately rushed to hospital (Madan Mohan Malaviya). I have talked to doctors and the students are safe now,” Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted.

To take stock of the situation, Sisodia visited the hospital. He was apprised with the status of students’ bettering health. He also spelled out his intention to severely punish those at fault.

“An FIR is being lodged against the meal supplier. We will also blacklist him,” Sisodia adamantly stated. “The meals will now be prepared at the school kitchen in presence of our officers,” Sisodia added.

Instances like these are a lucid reflection of wavering attention of the AAP government from the prime issues. It suggests a clear sidelining of instrumental avenues which need to be addressed, without any undue ado. The reining party is so engrossed into low-level politicking and presenting bills for MLA salary hikes who also happen to claim that they will monetarily prosper through honest means and involve no perfidy in their administrative actions. There is a growing need for the party to collect it’s agendas and set it’s road clear. Otherwise Shoe hurling will soon become a ritual…
