Three flights start every week from Jaipur to Singapore – frequency will be increased to four after 29th October

It is common knowledge that tourism has substantial impact on developing economies. Aggressively competitive, specific, swiftly evolving business segment, for a state like Rajasthan, the sector holds mammoth importance. An apathetic Congress regime in the growing years of the last decade almost left the industry to perish.

Identifying the need for expanding potential, economic opportunities and enabling framework for sustainable growth in the sector, when Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje started her regime, she did so with bringing major overhaul in the marketing strategy of the Tourism department in Rajasthan, with extra emphasis on building partnerships to boost the sector. The result was a tangent increase in the number of arrivals, and a tourism campaign that received accolades from across the world.

Poor Air Connectivity was a Major Cause of Disappointment for Passengers Earlier

Aviation industry had always been on the blunt end of previous government that lead to failure in accelerating international tourism, which holds a significant part of Rajasthan’s economy. No solid efforts were made on improving road conditions, restoring monuments or improving the flight status for attracting tourists. Consequently, there were next-to-zilch investments by international airline companies in the heritage-rich state. Passengers had to spend double money on catching an international flight from either Mumbai or New Delhi. When she came into power, CM Raje was determined to change the pictures.

New Flight Availability shall be a Source of Relief for International Tourists

And she has! Earlier this month, CM Vasundhara Raje announced inter-state flights from Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur, catering to other Indian cities, so that travelers can swiftly commute across the state. Her foresight and inventiveness has fetched yet another milestone for Rajasthan in the civil aviation industry. With KamaScootra arriving in Rajasthan this Monday, the 3rd of October, Jaipur will become the third Indian city to experience the cool ‘scootitude’ after Chennai and Amritsar.

Fruits of Cordial Relations with Raje – Singapore-Rajasthan partnering like never before

In February 2014, CM Raje, in a 3-day visit to Singapore had invited Mr. K Shanmugam, Minister for Law and Home Affairs, to lead a business delegation to ‘Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit’, a spectacular 2-day extravaganza held on 19th and 20th November last year. It was primarily organized to strengthen ties between Rajasthan and other countries.

The results of the Resurgent Rajasthan have been phenomenal. Over 80% of the partnerships have already been materialized, which is a record in comparison with other states.

During the summit, Mr. Shanmugam met and reviewed the areas of collaboration with CM and hinted at the commencement of direct flights between Jaipur and Singapore. His cordial relations with Chief Minister Raje lead to the culmination of the Singapore-Rajasthan partnership in no time. Following the successful collaboration of India and Singapore over housing, waste and water management during the summit, Rajasthan is ready to swank its now-reenergized connectivity to rest of the world, within a span of just a few months.

The strength of association between Singapore and Rajasthan can be estimated with the fact that Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, his wife and the entire delegation, on a 5-day bilateral visit to India, will spend two days in Udaipur as a guest of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Lee will join the takeoff of Centre of Excellence for Tourism Training as part of Rajasthan’s skill development mission. He will also be present in the signing ceremony of an agreement on collaboration on tourism and urban solutions between Rajasthan Government and Singapore’s International Enterprise. An MOUon a Capacity Building Program in tourism and hospitality between the Rajasthan government and Singapore’s Cooperation Enterprise will also be signed.

Jaipur Gets to Experience Scootitude within Ten Months

This Monday, Scoot Airlines, a partner of Singapore Airlines is all set to inaugurate their first flight connecting ‘the City of Lions’ to the ‘Pink City’, operated by KamaScootra, their latest low-cost, wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The city is being pepped up for the inauguration ceremony, which will take place at 9:30 am on Monday at Jaipur Marriott Hotel. It’ll be attended by high-profile members from both the countries, including His Excellency Mr. Lim Thuan Kuan, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to India, Mr. Ho Yuen Sang, Chief Commercial Officer, Budget Aviation Holdings, Mr. Bharat Mahadevan, Country Head for Scoot, India. Scoot, which is managed by Budget Aviation Holdings, will initially commence flights thrice a week (effective from October 3) with the numbers reaching up to four times a week from October 29. Now, Indian travelers can happily ‘scoot over’ from Rajasthan to Singapore in just Rs. 14,699 onwards (one way fare for ScootBiz ‘Premium’ business class). Partnership for the Win for Rajasthan

Considering Singapore’s technological genius, linking up both the cities is a big achievement not just forChief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje, but also for the people of Rajasthan. It’ll not just help in sharing of knowledge, resources and skilled labour between both the entities, but also help promote Rajasthan’s tourism potential, further strengthening the position of Rajasthan at the national level.
