The recent news of shooting of Indian engineer is as disturbing as the H1B visa news. The news, recently crawled through the white house and finally Donald Trump has made reactions on this. Via his press secretary, Sean Spicer, he mentioned that, the reports regarding the crime are “disturbing”. In the incident which happened on Wednesday, an engineer from India, Srinivas Kuchibhotla died and his friend named Alok Madasani incurred heavy injuries.
Donald Trump made that statement, when S Jaishankar, who is Foreign Secretary, was there on a four day visit regarding H-1B visa discussions. He also reported heavy violence arising against Indians.
Mr. Spicer was talking about hateful crimes against Jewish in the United States, and while doing that, he made this statement. He clearly mentioned the intolerance against violence in the country on the basis of ethnicity and religion. Hopefully, the Indian making a living there will heave a sigh of relief because of this.
The words of Mr. Spicer were like, “From our country’s founding, we’ve been dedicated to protecting the freedom of our citizens’ rights to worship. No one in America should feel afraid to follow the religion of their choosing freely and openly. The President has dedicated to preserving this originating principle of our nation”.
Though the incident will be monitored by Federal Bureau of Investigation, but the wife of the dead Indian engineer is disturbed and feeling hopeless and will return to Indian soon for the funeral of Kuchibhotla.
The 32 year old engineer Srinivas and his friend Alok got targeted for shooting by Adam Purinton who is 51 years old US navy veteran. His friend got lucky and survived out of injury and the Srinivas succumbed to death.
His wife Dumala, who talks about this nemesis incident of her life says, “His husband would assure me that only good things happen to good people. So, always thing good”.
