Milind Soman, the man who became every girl’s dream boy after the release of Made in India song in the 90s, is a practical example of the phrase “age is just a number”. Born on 4th November 1965, the model-turned-actor has turned 52 today. Yes, that’s right!
Despite his minimal presence in selective movies, his social media posts and photos often become viral on the internet. As Soman celebrates his 52nd birthday today, let’s take a look at some of the facts about the heartthrob of the nation.
Milind Soman was born in Scotland and lived in England until the age of 7. After that, he moved to India with his family in 1972. He comes from a family of bright minds. His father Prabhakar Soman was a nuclear scientist at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and his mother Usha is a Biochemist. Besides, all four of his maternal and paternal grandparents were doctors.

Back in the 90s, Milind Soman worked as a model in many album songs. His appearance in the song Made in India still remains etched in the hearts of his fans. He also got a huge fan following for his title role in Captain Vyom in the mid-90s.
He even acted in India’s first English TV serial named A Mouthful of Sky which was telecasted on Doordarshan. It showcased the lives of a bunch of people in their mid-thirties who are trying to balance the conventional Indian society norms as well the urban culture in the post-independent phase of India.

Some of his movies include 16 December, Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula, Say Salaam India and Bheja Fry. He was also seen recently in Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Chef (2017).
Milind Soman can definitely do much more than modeling and acting. The man is an international level swimmer and has won the national swimming championship title for 4 consecutive years since 1984.

He is also a fitness freak, which is evident from his physique. He got his name registered in the Limca Book of Records after running for 1500 km in 30 days for Greenathon. Besides, he is the ambassador of India’s biggest marathon for women named Pinkathon.
He even got the Ironman title in triathlon by completing the challenge in 15 hours and 19 minutes, in his maiden attempt. The challenge included a 3.8 km swim, 180.2 km cycle ride, and 42.2 km run race. The allotted time is 17 hours and all those who complete the target are given the title ‘Ironman’.
Interestingly, Milind Soman was earlier a chain-smoker; but not anymore. From smoking 30 cigarettes in a day to quitting it all together is surely a commendable job that he has done.
