Hichki Trailer Out: Rani Mukherjee and her Hiccups will Win your Heart

Hichki Trailer

Rani Mukherjee is back with a phenomenal performance as seen in the Hichki trailer, which just came out today. It’s a film based on the story of a girl named Naina Mathur (played by Rani) who suffers from Tourette Syndrome but aspires to become a teacher. The syndrome which is defined as a neuropsychiatric disorder causes involuntary movements and sounds, much like a hiccup which occurs frequently.

The trailer was posted on the film’s official Twitter handle:

Since teachers are supposed to be good at speaking, she faces numerous rejections by schools as the administration questions her capabilities. After facing many obstructions, she finally gets a job as a teacher at a prestigious school but the students are from the underprivileged section of society and are given admission just for the sake of the RTI Act.

As Naina Mathur tries to teach them, the students troll her badly for her speech disorder and she faces a hard time dealing with them. However, she is determined to bring a change and how she does so is the entire story.

The trailer has hints of drama, comedy, and power-packed performances by Rani as well as the supporting cast of the film. Although it seems inspired from the movie ‘Front of the Class’ (2008), there are definitely some Indianised elements of fun in the student-teacher interactions and of course the plight of the education system of India which only we can relate to.

The Hichki trailer suggests that the movie is educational, inspirational, and yet entertaining. The movie is a Yash Raj Production and is going to hit the theatres on February 23. This trailer will be attached to Tiger Zinda Hai when the latter comes out in theatres on Dec 22.

This is Rani Mukherjee’s second film post her marriage. She was last seen in Mardaani (2014) and hence Hichki can be considered as her comeback film.

Undoubtedly, Rani is one of the rare actors who excel at acting and always chooses powerful roles that she carries on her shoulders without relying on a male lead. We wish this one will yet again prove her mettle as an actor as the trailer has already won our hearts.
