“I am not guilty and I have been falsely implicated” – Salman Khan on Arms Act Case

salman khan case latest news-jodhpur

Bollywood actor Salman Khan appeared before the Jodhpur chief judicial court on Thursday to record his statement for the 17 year old Arms Act case (1998), which is an offshoot of the black buck poaching case. It happened during the shoot of Hum Sath Sath Hai when the actors entertained themselves by hunting preserved animals near Jodhpur’s Kankani. Reportedly the actor left Mumbai early this morning and reached the court on time for his important hearing. He was accompanied by his sister Alvira and bodyguard Shera during the court proceedings which went on for almost half an hour.

The years long accusation related to hunting was about Salman’s use of revolver and rifle, both with expired licenses. To this his significant statement throughout the hearing was, “I am not guilty and I have been falsely implicated”. Also to prove his probity through an answer to the other inquiry on caste, Salman Khan told the court that he writes ‘Indian’. Before this day Mr. Khan had appeared in the court on April 29 last year and pleaded for his righteousness. Further to prove himself innocent he had previously asked for permission to resummon five witnesses in this Arms Act Case. Strict re-examination of each of those five witnesses has been performed by Chief Judicial Magistrate.

If convicted, Bollywood’s Bhai will be sentenced for 7 long years. Next hearing will be held on 5th of April. The gap in between has been a favor to the actor to get enough time to prove himself upright. Hope everything gets on the right track for this superb actor who taught us the importance of “Being Human”
