India Art Fair 2018 is going to commence from 9th February at Okhla, New Delhi and will go on till February 12. The event will present a wide range of well known and emerging galleries from India and South Asia. The modern masters and contemporary artists from these regions will be featured at the fair. Besides, spaces from Europe, South America, UK, and US have also been invited to showcase their respective artworks.
The platform section of the fair will be dedicated to emerging art practices and will feature vernacular arts through art collectives like Tribal Art Forms, Pichvai Tradition & Beyond, Blueprint 12, and Swaraj Art Archive from Delhi. Others include Britto Art trust from Dhaka and Nepal Arts Council from Kathmandu. There will be a dedicated space to present art projects that include large-scale installations by artists from India, Pakistan, and South Korea.

The programmes lined up for the event include artists’ talk, industry debates, digital artworks, and live events. A moving image work by Hetain Patel and a strand of talks named ‘I know what you did last summer’ will be some of the highlighting elements of the fair.
Further, a new professional learning program will be launched at the event featuring international experts. Discussions will be held regarding accessibility of art in India, authentication, intellectual property, and import/export of artworks.
Other activities at the event include the 17th BMW Art Car by Jeff Koons by the presenting partner BMW India. Besides, Penguin Random House India will also present a creative zone and an open library for children.
The India Art Fair Director Jagdip Jagpal was quoted as saying, “Our 2018 programme is about inspiring visitors to discover the best of the local and regional art scene, from fascinating history to modern day icons and emerging talents.”
