A Facebook Economist Intelligence Unit report says that, out of 75 nations, India is ranked on 36 in terms of inclination towards internet. These included factors like affordability, availability, policies and language.

If we dig deep in the details, India ranks 46th in terms if availability and in terms of affordability, it hiked on 26th rank. In the positions of relevance, it came on 36th rank and in terms of readiness, it came on 25th rank.
Facebook mentioned it like, “Internet access drives economic opportunity and enables the free exchange of data and information…A truly inclusive Internet must be widely available, affordable and allow usage that promotes positive social and economic outcomes”.
If you wonder, where does India stand among Asian countries, the answer is 12th, out of 22 countries.
The report says that, leapfrogging broadband connections, India have jumped to mobile subscriptions.
The report also revealed that, in 75 countries, 94 percent population get submerged in the range of mobile signal. But, out of them only 43 percent have access to 4G signals.
The report also says, “As a result, predominantly in the developing world, people are using the Internet less than they would if it were cheaper and faster. The infrastructure for access may exist, but connectivity must be improved in order for the Internet to be globally inclusive”.
The report also revealed some shocking results that, gender gap is broadening on the internet space.
In the developing countries, women make very small proportion of internet active folks as compared to the year 2013. In comparison to men, less women have phones with internet capability.
Though we still mourn about having slower internet speed as compared to some countries like Korea, these results quite shows us the better picture.
