India moves closer with China regarding the proposal of military hotline

current relationship between india and china

In order to improve their border security, both India and China have agreed upon on setting a hotline between the military headquarters of both the countries. This is a great step closer to make better relations in between both the neighboring countries. It was decided when China reacted very positively on this hotline proposal from the Indian side in the meeting held between Chinese Defence Minister Chang Wanquan and Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Mr Parrikar told the press later that “the Chinese have returned the draft of the memorandum on establishing a hotline between the two military headquarters. The issue should be closed within one or two months.”

Both the sides very well know how much such a step was needed to take place seeing the tensions arising out of aggressive patrolling on the borders every now and then.  Mr Chang was in great appreciation for this new and friendly way which the two nations are dealing in. He has asked the others to do peace with all the past issues and accept the proposal happily so that the common interests are safeguarded. By making the defense exchanges strong, both peace and tranquility can be easily achieved at the border area.

Fan Changlong, Vice chairman of China’s Central Military Commission after his meeting with Mr Parrikar, said “China regards bilateral ties from a strategic and long-term perspective and is willing to strengthen military-to-military cooperation to contribute more to peace, stability and prosperity of two countries”.
