“Sports have the power to change the world. Sport creates hope when there was only distress. Each child should get an opportunity to play sports. If we do not emphasise on building a sporting culture in the country, we would have a young, unfit, unhealthy India which will be recipe for disaster,” he added.

He also formulated three ‘I’ – Invest, Insure and Immortalise. “He said, “We must invest our own time and effort and ensure our wellness and each one of us must start adopting one active sport and play regularly.” He said our citizens should have ample sports infrastructure.

He also urged Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to announce an allocation of a certain amount for the development of sports infrastructure.

“Our citizens and school children should have access to more sports infrastructure. Open spaces and playgrounds should be retained and along with smart cities, we should look at building smart sports cities,” he added
