India, Pakistan and Humanity

It was just a couple of months back that Bollywood movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan’ has earned more than Rs.200 crore in India, if I am not wrong in interpreting the sentiments of movie, it has featured that humanity has nothing to do with nationality or religion. The way movie was presented touched heart of every Indian.

However when we talk about the real life, that feeling is miles away from heart and that is very true in most of the cases. The reason of pinching everyone with that comment is an incidence that became reality of India, as well as our personal believe ‘Atihi Devo Bhava’ (Guest is God). A family of Pakistan travelled to Mumbai all the way from Karachi (Pakistan), just to pray for good health of their ill child. The family of Six (Three women, Two Men and a 12 years child) has to fight hard for the accommodation in hotels of city like Mumbai

The family travelling with valid visa was denied accommodation in hotels, just because they didn’t had ‘Form C’ and hotel establishment is not interested in issuing one for the family. As result family had to spent night at Mumbai Central Station. Before which they knocked door of hotels on streets of Mumbai, unfortunately were turned down from every hotel allegedly because they are Pakistani.

According to Indian law, hotels who provide accommodation to foreigners are supposed to submit the respective details in Form C to the registration authority within 24 hours of their arrival. But the law cannot be considered as everyone denied giving shelter to the family. The family was finally accommodated by the RPF’s (Railway Police Protection) guest house.

The incidence is nothing less than an insult for our country, on the grounds of its hospitality and fundamental believes. Apart from this it also gives birth to a question that “Are we Matured in Our thinking?” is it the right way to treat our guest, no matter from where he or she hails. If someone will ask me these questions my answer to him will be a blunt ‘NO’, only because of the reason that I am a human being and I believe in humanity.

Even after considering nuisance created by Pakistan in the past and present as well, the issues does not provoke me to forget my fundamentals and react accordingly in case.

There are political parties whom I will not name, are active in the country and advocates on the rules of ‘tit for tat’, but they must first think that will it do any good for our country, obviously ‘NO’ on the contrary will only credit insult on account of our country, as there has to be at least one person who must agree and end up this slaughtering business.
