Indian government demanded the US government to make available the details of 271 out of the law immigrants from India to US. Gopal Baglay, who is external affairs ministry spokesperson, “This is an ongoing matter. The US authorities had conveyed to us sometime back that out of certain statistics provided to us earlier, 271 cases remained to be addressed. However, no details of these cases were provided. We have asked for the same”.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj mentioned, “We have not accepted this list and have sought more details. We have said that it is only after we verify the details, can we issue an emergency certificate for their deportation.”
This came into hype when the Donald Trump gave a list of 271 people and mentioned that they illegally migrated from India.
When asked about the murder of an Indian woman and her son, who was seven year old, Bagley said India is in constant contact with US authorities. They will soon assess the details of the “very unfortunate incident”.
As mentioned by them, the Indian consulate offered all possible helps to the family.
Ever since, the Donald Trump came into the rule, the American-Indians have faced the unexpected situations. The dream of studying and living in the US seems like a far away notion now as US government has put plethora of norms on it. The students, employees and business people have a never ending uncertainty due to which the daily lives have been hampered.
To curb some tension from the end of Indian administration, the external affair minister Sushma Swaraj demanded the list of 271 illegal immigrants from India to US. Although we can hardly speculate that why they have asked for the list of illegal immigrants but we can just guess better for Indian NRIs there.
