Indian Navy Day: A day to remember martyrs

To celebrate the achievements and role of the naval force in India, 4 December is observed as Navy Day in India every year. The Indian Navy is the marine branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India leads Indian Navy as Commander-in-Chief. The celebration of this day was started to commemorate the courageous attack on the Karachi harbor during the Indo-Pakistan war on 4 December, 1971. On Navy Day in India, the martyrs are being remembered.

On this occasion, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Indian naval personnel. He congratulated the Indian Naval officers and their families on Twitter. He also attached the video with this tweet.

Updates of Innovation Pavilion on Navy Day
There are also award-winning innovations by Naval force at the “Innovation Pavilion” at the Navy House in New Delhi. Innovations from Indian Naval Ships ‘Kuthar’ and ‘Vikramaditya’ have been selected as the winner and runner-up respectively in the ‘Operational Units’ category. There are awards for innovations in the ‘Shore Establishments’ category on Indian Navy Day.

The Navy presents the ‘CNS Rolling Trophy for Innovation’ to selected innovations on methods adopted by units to overcome constraints and to improve efficiency at their work areas.
