“Indian Railways will play a vital role in making India a $5 trillion economy”, Amit Shah as he flags off ‘Vande Bharat’

Home minister, Amit Shah flagged off the New Delhi-Katra ‘Vande Bharat’ Express, in New Delhi on Friday on emphasized on the fact that Indian Railways plays a key part in the country’s quest of becoming a $5 trillion economy. This is the second ‘Vande Bharat’ express after the New Delhi – Varanasi semi-high-speed train flagged off by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in February of this year.

Mr. Shah appreciated the work of the Ministry of Railways and thanked them for giving a big gift to the people of the country on the occasion of Navaratas. He pointed out the fact that religious tourism plays a vital role in the development and progress of Jammu-Kashmir. Every citizen of India has a desire to visit Vaishnodevi Temple at least once in the lifetime and this new train project will make their dream come true with a minimum of fuss.

He conveyed his thoughts that ‘Vande Bharat’ is a benchmark of the success of ‘Make in India’scheme that has gathered pace in recent times. He added that this project has the potential of giving a major boost to the economy. The speed at which the development and modernisation of railways is taking place under Prime minster’s leadership is there to see for the world, he added.

Mr. Shah said, “Railways must keep this fast-paced development profile going on in full steam and achieve Prime Minister’s vision of a US$ 5 trillion economy, in the same way as Railways played a major role in the success of Bapu’s freedom struggle”.
