ISIS Learnt to be a Threat for India, Intelligence Agencies comes into Action

ISIS – The Terrorist Group responsible for Paris attack is now learnt to be a threat for India. The biggest foreground for threat is a social networking and internet, on which the extremist espousing their ideology and propaganda. The intelligence sources says that, there are nearly 7 million Indians in the Gulf and Western parts of Asia, could be the hunting ground for ISIS.

The news reports suggest that the vulnerable areas in the country are Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. Whereas, reports of their collaboration with India-centric terror groups can also turn-out vulnerable for India.

An interrogation report of 2013, reveals that 56.3% of individuals gets motivated by the extremist, through religious programs organized by the group on internet. While, 13.6% are driven by the perception that they were being targeted by the west, 11.2% joins them for money, 7.2% becomes part of such groups sustaining communalism.

The reports further disclose that 22 youngsters from across several states were radicalized by an Indian individual based in Dubai through Social media. In another incident Two youngsters from Maharashtra, were got arrested in Hyderabad in 2014, these were motivated by SIMI (Student Movement of India) activist. There more such incidents happened in past including August 2012’s terror module bust.

Now, to overcome this potential threat India is taking preventive actions into count. On primary level national intelligence agency has been activated, which will identify degree of potential threats, all the suspicious activities will be monitored. However, youngsters getting attracted towards ISIS ideology will not be put behind bars but would be sent for counseling.
