According to the latest reports, Apple, head-quartered in Cupertino, the American multinational technology company’s biggest manufacturer Foxconn is looking forward with developing a manufacturing unit in India which would in collaboration with the Indian government will soon provide ‘Made in India’ iPhones soon. Indian Government and Foxconn are in advance stages and it seems like the deal is close to be signed.

Reports further say that the company has been looking for a suitable land of around 1200 acres in the state of Maharashtra and has already listed out a few options. IF the deal is done, a whooping amount of $10 billion would be spent on this manufacturing unitand would start operating 18 months after the deal is finally signed.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fednavis said, “Our country is rapidly urbanising, so our PM has unveiled his vision of making smart cities. India’s most urbanised state, Maharashtra has much to contribute to it and thus would welcome Chinese expertise and investment in this sector.I would look forward to more Chinese investments in Maharashtra in future. I am planning a special visit to the province Qingdao to learn from Chinese infrastructure development in coastal area.”
'Made in India' iPhonesHe further added, “China has been a significant investor in Maharashtra, investing $350 million as of now. We will also establish Chinese language/cultural study centre in memory of Prof JiXianLin who translated Ramayana in Chinese. I believe in cooperative federalism and development for all.”

Though there is nothing official but if its finalised ‘Made in India’ iPhones would be soon a reality and would probably be seen in the market. This deal is being signed under the ‘Make in India’ flagship program of the Indian Government.
