Mahendra Singh Dhoni Becomes Fifth Indian to score 6000 runs in T20

MS Dhoni, who is currently busy leading the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2018, has recently become the 5th Indian to score 6000 runs in T20 cricket across all platforms. The player reached the landmark while playing against Delhi Daredevils in Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Friday.

Earlier, Indian cricketers like Suresh Raina (7708), Virat Kohli (7621), Rohit Sharma (7303), and Gautam Gambhir (6402) had achieved the same landmark in T20 cricket.

After Fridays’ game against Delhi Daredevils, Dhoni has scored 6007 runs in 290 T20 games. Although Dhoni’s team CSK couldn’t beat the Delhi squad, the achievement is quite great for him. In the match, Dhoni could score just 17 while chasing the total target of 162 in the 18th over.

Evidently, Dhoni has been doing great this IPL season and his team has already qualified to the playoffs, currently sitting at the second slot in the points table. Also, this IPL Season is quite special for Dhoni as CSK has made a comeback after 2 years. As of now, the CSK skipper has scored 430 runs in 13 games which have been his best IPL performance so far.

So far, MS Dhoni has scored three half-centuries and is averaging 86 this year. Talking about the boundaries, he has scored 29 sixes and 22 fours in the process.

Discussing the IPL 2018, this season is getting exciting with every match as more and more teams are playing to claim the 4th position in the tournament. While Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings have secured the top two slots with 18 and 16 points, respectively.
