Mani Shankar Says “It is required to Remove Modi,” Aggravates Controversy

Mani Shankar Aiyar – a congress leader has buzzed Indian politics with yet another controversy. The congress leader speaking on Indo-Pak relation on 17th November came out with a statement that “First, it is required to remove Modi, otherwise talks will not move forward. We’ll have to wait for four years. These people are very optimistic about Modi, they think that talks will move forward with Modi’s presence, but I don’t think so.”

The statement was given during an interview to a Pakistani news channel, Duniya TV. The words so uttered by Mani Shankar, has initiated a counter attack from the opposition and ruling Party BJP leaders, which not only asked for a apologies from Mani Shankar but an apology from Sonia Gandhi – who is President of Congress.

Prior to this, Minority Affair Minister Najma Heptulla reacting over Aiyar’s remark said “Perhaps Mani Shankar Aiyar forgot that Modi ji was elected by the people. It is a reprehensible comment and we condemn it.” Whereas, BJP Spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi, tagged Mani Shankar as a propagandists of Terrorist Group ISIS, for using foul words against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, the fury of false statement did not confined on just removing Modi, as the anchor asked Mani that those words are not possible practically, replying to it congress leader said “then Pakistan would have to wait.”

Aiyar’s remark was flashed when almost whole world is in a state of shock, after the serial blasts occurred in Paris which claimed life of at-least 140 individuals. Aiyar commenting on the attack said “the anti-Islam phobia that is being carried out in the western countries should be stopped immediately. The Muslims living in France should be provided with the assurance that they are also citizens of the country.” He expressing penitence for the incidence Aiyar added “we should also think that why this situation has raised?”

This is not the first occasion that Aiyar, have been blunt speaking over Narendra Modi. Previously, Aiyar during 2014 General Elections remarked “I promise you that in the 21st century, Narendra Modi will never become the Prime Minister of the country… But if he wants to distribute tea here, we will find a place for him,” these words had encouraged massive row of reactions on political ground.
