MoUs Worth Rs.3 Lakh Crore Signed on Inaugural Ceremony of Resurgent Rajasthan

After Gujarat, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Karnataka, it’s now Rajasthan’s turn to woo investors. The two-day ‘Resurgent Rajasthan’ investor summit kicked off in Jaipur on Thursday 19th November. The investor summit was inaugurated by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, in presence of India’s top CEO’s and Delegates from Japan

The inaugural session was made by internationally acclaimed, Jaipur born actor Irrfan Khan who is also a brand Ambassador of Resurgent Rajasthan. Speaking from the stage Irrfan Khan recited poem “‘Raja Maharajon Ki Dharti Par Khadi Gaganchumbi Imaratain, Likhengi Taraaqi Ki Ibaaraten.”

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje opening the summit as the hope for state signed MoUs (memorandum of understanding) worth Rs. 3 lakh crore. The state government has undertaken reforms on labor laws and the outmoded factories law along with slay of other reforms and is hoping that this will promise well for investments in the coming days.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley being a Chief Guest of Summit and key note speaker, praised Rajasthan saying “India in the last few months has been following a policy with renewed vigor of attracting investment into the country. Public investment has significantly increased, FDI has considerably increased and private sector investment is slowly picking up. We have eased all the rules as far as investment is concerned and I am sure Rajasthan as an extremely progressive state will certainly going to gain from this new investment chapter that India is writing.”

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on the sidelines of the event said talks are on with the power ministry on signing MoUs for Uday, government’s financial reform package for turning around debt-strapped power discoms. Power Minister Piyush Goyal on his part is also confident that Rajasthan would eventually become the shining star for Uday.
