Olympic Medal Winner, Asiad and Commonwealth Gold Medalist to Get Direct Appointment in State Services

The state Cabinet meeting which was held on 17th May, Wednesday in Jaipur, cleared the draft of ‘Rajasthan Out- of- Turn Appointment’ to ‘Sports Medal Winners Rules, 2017’. Other decisions were also taken by the state cabinets which were chaired by Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje.

State Parliamenatry Affairs Minister, Shri Rajendra Rathore informed that this decision was taken by CM Raje in 2016-17 budget. He said that Medal winners of Olympic Games, Gold Medal Winners of Asian and Commonwealth Games will be directly recruited as RAS/RPS and other state services.

He also added that Silver and Bronze Medal Winners of Asian and Commonwealth Games, Medal Winners and runners up of World Cup or World Championships, Asiatic Athletic Championship/ Commonwealth Games, Para Olympics and sportsmen who participated in Olympics will be appointed in subordinate services.

Shri Rathore further added that the medal winners, runners up and sportsmen of senior category who participated in National Games/ Championship, and Para Olympics will be recruited in Ministerial Services. The eligible sportsmen or medal winners will have to apply for the appointment within three years after winning the medal. Also the appointed sportsmen will have to complete the educational qualification prescribed under the service rules for the concerned designation within five years after the appointment.

He also informed that due to lack of specialist doctors in the state, the Medical and Health Department has made a decision to tie-up with College of Physician/Surgeon, (CPS) Mumbai, under which two year diploma course and three year fellowship programme will run in selected medical institutions in order to enhance the qualification of doctors.

On the same lines, 21 Diploma and 5 Fellowship programmes will also run in these selected institutions. Total seats for these specialist courses will be 266 out of which 50 percent will be for in service doctors.

The diploma / fellowship certificate provided by the CPS, Mumbai, will be registered for three years in Rajasthan Medical Council and will be submitted in the office of Director (Public Health), Rajasthan. Then, after three years of service with the state government doctor, the person will get diploma/fellowship certificate.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister also informed that the state cabinet also discussed the preparations for the divisional level ‘GRAM’ which will held in Kota from May 24th till 26th Regarding this 27,000 farmers have registered. It will include 32 seminars and 86 agricultural experts, which will provide guidelines to the farmers in order to increase production and income. He added that the progress of ‘Nyay Apke Dwar’ campaign and Shahri Jan Kalyan Shivirs was also discussed during the cabinet meet.
