After claiming the consumer goods market, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali brand will soon start selling SIM cards. The Yoga guru has teamed up with state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to launch Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards. Although these SIM cards will be initially available for the employees only, later the public will also be able to avail them.

After the full-fledged launch of the SIM, people will be able to avail 10% discount on Patanjali products. Reportedly, the offer will include unlimited calls, 2 GB data pack, and 100 free SMSs on recharge of INR 144. Besides, the cardholders will also get life insurance and health insurance cover.

Speaking on the occasion in Haridwar, Baba Ramdev regarded the telecom operator as a “Swadeshi Network” and added that both Patanjali and BSNL aim for the welfare of the country. He also informed that soon, customers will be able to buy the Patanjali Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards from five Lakh counters of BSNL across the country.

In addition to calling and data pack offers, the card also comes with medical insurance of INR 2.5 Lakhs and life insurance cover of INR 5 Lakhs. However, the covers can only be availed in case of road accidents.

Back in January, the FMCG brand owner had also announced the launch of an e-commerce platform by the name www.patanjaliayurved.net. Currently, the indigenous consumer goods brand is one of the most popular brands and holds the potential of competing with the international ones. From beauty products to personal care, Patanjali’s market share is continually growing and prospering.
