Launching the bugle for 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, PM Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Maghar town of Uttar Pradesh. Here, Modi talked about the teachings of Saint Kabir and his message for equality and inclusiveness. He also targeted the opposition parties while accusing them of creating doubts in the minds of people for political gains.

Taking a dig at Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati, PM Modi pointed out that those who are dividing the society haven’t understood the teaching of our great saints. He also criticized other parties for joining hands with Congress for power saying “those who opposed Emergency are now hand in glove with Congress.”

Apart from his remarks on the opposition, Modi utilized the public address as a chance for glorifying Saint Kabir and established a connection with the natives of Sant Kabir Nagar. Visiting the Kabir Samaadhi at Maghar Dhaam, the Prime Minister offered a chadar at Sant Kabir’s mazaar.

He laid the foundation stone of Sant Kabir Academy to commemorate the 500th death anniversary of Kabir Das. The academy is spread across an area of 17 acres and will constitute an Interpretation Centre, Convention Centre, Library, Picture Gallery, Administrative Building, Hostel, and quarters for employees. The project will be implemented by the Archeological Survey of India.
