A total of 4896 voters including 4120 MLAs and 776 elected MPs are eligible to cast their ballot. Not only this, a Rs 15000 fee is also required to be attached along with the candidate nomination papers.
On July 24, the 5-year term of incumbent President Pranab Mukherjee ends and hence the process of selecting a suitable candidate must start soon. The last day to file nomination papers is July 17.
