Prithvi Shaw has made a remarkable opening in Test match by hitting a century. It is like a dream come true as he became the fourth youngest batsman to score a century in debut Test match. On Day 1 of opening Test against West Indies, India’s Prithvi Shaw made a great start. At the age of 18, he showed his unbelievable talent. Know more.

At the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, he created a milestone of making 100 off just 99 balls, hitting 15 fours. He made 134 off 154 balls. Pujara, who was dismissed for 86, complemented the youngster well as the visitors kept the scoreboard ticking.

After opener KL Rahul was dismissed by Shannon Gabriel for a duck, Shaw and Cheteshwar Pujara together reached 206 runs to bring India closer to win. Later, Virat Kohli (72*) and Ajinkya Rahane strung together a 105-run partnership.

Beginning his career at a young age of 14, he scored 546 off 330 balls in school cricket. He also scored a hundred on Ranji Trophy debut. He kept on making records as he broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record to become the youngest debut centurion in Duleep Trophy. He was also former captain of India national under-19 cricket team and led the team to glory in the event. He also grabbed a Rs 1.20 crore contract with Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 IPL Auction. Soon, after Shikhar Dhawan was left out of the Test squad for the series against West Indies, he got this opportunity.
