A movement to save the dying rivers of India . . .
A movement led by spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudeva of the Isha Foundation, is a campaign that,”aims to bring a policy change at the national level to save the rivers.” A campaign that began on September 2nd and will go on till 6th October spans 23 major cities, and 16 States, with the Sadhguru travelling 7, 000 kms, beginning at Kanyakumari.
The campaign has received widespread support from people all over the Nation and celebrities, political leaders, athletes, sportspersons and artists have together to join the campaign to restore mother nature and Rally for Rivers. The campaign states, ‘India’s rivers are undergoing a drastic change. Due to the pressures of population and development, our perennial rivers are becoming seasonal. Many of the smaller rivers have already vanished. Flood as well as drought are becoming increasingly frequent, as rivers turn unruly during the monsoon, and vanish once the rainy season is over.’
