Seawater is now drinkable, thanks to Tamil Nadu scientists

Seawater is now drinkable

When it comes to water, you won’t be able to find one person who underestimates its importance. Even god gifted camels can’t deny its significance then who are we humans to not realize the sheer paramountcy water deserves.

Seeing the news filled with the word ‘drought’ every now and then, this urgency clicked the scientists to find suitable solutions for this particular need of the nation.  Hence some scientists from Tamil Nadu rose to the occasion. The scientists there brainstormed and came up with an entirely novel system which can make so called useless seawater into very much potable form which will be safe to drink. These were the same scientists who earlier instilled some better filtration techniques in order to make arsenic and uranium filled groundwater safer drinkable.

This time the top brainers have thought of using nuclear reactor’s wasted steam to purify seawater. The water is then desalinated and it tastes like fresh water. The entire processing plant has been set up in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Tamil Nadu’s Kalpakkam district.
